Follow-up Committee "Hadramout without khat" meet in Mukalla adopted a resolution to remove khat sites outside the city of Mukalla
Fpllow-up Committee of "Hadhramout without khat"held up a meeting at theUnion of writers and authors, Mukalla Yemen yesterday for its project of combating the abuse of khat in Hadhramout province. The meeting was called to determine the most significant developments shortly after the recent agreement between Hadhramaut local authority and the delegation of the World Bank to prevent the abuse of khat in Province.
The meeting stressed on the need for cultural elites to play full role as its one of the best part that is acceptable to carry out and promote awareness and education in the community on the dangers of this phenomenon of selling and consuming of khat and the uncivilized ways that it represent.Hadhramout Assistant Under-Secretary Mr. Mohammed Saeed Bagutmi stressed on the role of writers, authors and intellectuals to register a message against the abuse of khat in partnership with civil societies organizations and influential to foward an article that aims to clarify the extent of the damage on the individual and society from this scourge.
