Taiz University plans Yemen biggest medical city

Taiz University is getting ready to establish an integrated medical city, the biggest ever in Yemen, which will receive finance from the Saudi Development Fund. Taiz University Rector for student affairs Dr. Mahyoob al-Baher, as he received the parliament higher education, sports and youth committee headed by Dr. Ali al-Mekhlafi, reviewed university infrastructure projects being under implementation. He also reviewed the most significant projects to be set up at the university such as a Medical Town which would contain medicine, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing and Lab colleges and a university hospital with 600 beds. Al- Mekhlafi paid an inspection visit to the university and discussed with its officials the Yemenizing of the instructors as well as steps taken in this regard at other Yemeni Universities. The topic of the university's future plans to improve and modernize teaching programs was raised as well.
