Media sources revealed that the security authorities have thwarted shipment of ammunitions arms dealers imported from China by forged documents, the GPC-run almethaq.net. reported on Monday.
The security authorities have begun investigations with the involved persons to be appeared on courts soon.The website quoted well-informed sources as saying that the government has notified weapon exporter authorities and companies, including the Chinese, not to deal with any documents for exporting weapons except those approved by Defence Ministry or from the authorized Yemeni embassies and after verifying that thy are not forged.Some mediators, almethaq.net said it keeps their names, tried to pass the arms for 10 percent from the price, but they failed, the sources said.Worth to mention is that a blacklist of arms dealers has been circulated topped by the chief mediator between the government and the Houthi rebels in Saada Faris Mana'a.The authorities warned against trading in weapons and dealing with arms dealers, saying that any violating will be punished strictly.Most of the Yemeni people have weapons, triggering extensive disarmament campaigns.In recent years, the authorities said thousands of people disarmed willingly and other thousands by the authorities as they launched anti-public weapon carrying drive.
