This morning in Mukalla, the Governor of Hadhramaut and Head of the Governorate's Executive Office, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Governorate's Executive Office.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Governorate's Local Council, Mr. Saleh Aboud Al-Amqi, the Deputy Governors, the Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Talib Saeed Burjash, and the Director-General of Security and Coastal Police, Brigadier General Mutie Saeed Al-Manhali.
The Governor opened the meeting by extending greetings to the political leadership, represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the former governors who led the local authority after the liberation of the Hadramawt coast from the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in 2016: Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, and Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak Bin Madhi, for their efforts during the exceptional circumstances the governorate experienced.
Governor Al-Khanbashi reiterated his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the Arab Coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in supporting Yemen. He affirmed the local authority's commitment to strengthening security and stability, normalizing the situation, and supporting various sectors. The governor called on the media and all segments of society to promote the values of tolerance, coexistence, and brotherhood, and to reject aggression in conflicts. He emphasized the importance of professional conduct, facilitating citizens' transactions, and dealing seriously and effectively with the reports of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing, in order to close any loopholes for corruption.
Governor Al-Khanbashi pointed to a number of complex issues that require urgent attention. He stressed that basic services, including education, electricity, water, health, security, and normalization, are among the local authority's top priorities. He also noted the importance of assigning members of the Executive Office to specialized committees, according to their responsibilities, to enhance performance efficiency.
The governor of Hadramawt addressed the problem of accumulated financial debt facing the governorate, emphasizing the need to address it seriously and settle it according to a clear timetable.
The governor concluded the meeting by emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts and enhanced institutional performance in various facilities, which would improve services and raise the level of achievement, calling on everyone to feel responsible and work as one team to achieve the aspirations of the people of the governorate.
