Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik stated that Yemen has been going
through very critical economic hardships necessitate an urgent economic
support by Arab brothers and Yemen's friends to bail out the national
economy and sustain the government's efforts to maintain food security
and stability and mitigate humanitarian burdens.
He voiced his remark as he met today with Deputy Director of the World Bank (WB) for Middle East and North Africa Farid Balhaj.
Ma'een's conversations with Balhaj covered aspects of cooperation between the Yemeni government and the WB, future's plans and WB's projects in Yemen.
The Prime Minister noted that the WB is key partner of the government in the humanitarian, economic and developments spheres.
The Deputy Director of the WB restated that the WB is keen to provide the Yemeni government with different forms of necessary support and to work on mobilizing the finances to strengthen the government's capacities to keep on the needed reforms.
