The Minister of Education , Mr. Tariq Al-Akbari, sponsored the launching ceremony of the “Let’s Be Their Eyes” initiative in Mukalla.
The initiative, organized by the Basmat Mubta’ath Voluntary Forum, aims to transform educational curricula into audio templates that serve those of the blind category throughout the Republic of Yemen.
At the ceremony, the Minister of Education praised the efforts of the Basmat Mubta’ath Voluntary Forum in helping blind people to obtain the right to education with the easiest possible tools, alluding to the facilities that the Ministry will provide in order to ensure the success of the initiative and reach all blind people throughout the governorates of the Republic.
Executive General Manager of the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development, Eng. Tareq Ali Balkhasher, stressed on the Foundation’s interest in encouraging the volunteering concept and urged its students in the various countries to practice volunteering, whether during their education outside their homeland or after their return.
Moreover, he pointed to the keenness of the Chairman of the Board of Foundation’s founders and the its Board of trustees, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, for supporting the volunteering concept and volunteers, as this initiative comes under his generous sponsorship to provide assistance to blind people and ensure their rights of access to education.
The head of the Basmat Mubta’ath Voluntary Forum, Eng. AbdulWahed Wahdeen, expressed his deep gratitude to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort to serve the blind category to facilitate their access to education at all scientific levels. He announced that the forum will open a special recording studio at Al-Dhiaa Association for the Blind to ensure the sustainability of the initiative in recording all educational curricula if there is any change in the futureBasmat Mubta’ath Voluntary Forum was established by students on scholarships through Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development in the universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Forum has executed many voluntary works that served different segments of the society within the country.
