The World Bank agreed on providing Yemen a donation worth USD 204
million to help increase chances of getting basic services and economic
chances to population categories affected by conflict and coronavirus
pandemic.
In a release by the ministry of planning and international cooperation after receiving a letter from the Executive Director of the World Bank's Group, the ministry said the grant came as a result of fruitful effort and partnership between the government and the WB.
According to the release, the donation will finance the projects of emergency response of social protection and facing corona pandemic and education project.
The two projects will provide vital support to people who have been affected by economic and educational deterioration and lack of food security before eruption of the pandemic in the country.
The new financing will cover boosting social protection in emergency conditions and the emergency response project 19 and the emergency project of education and learning from the donation of the International Development Institution with the fund of USD 100 million.
There is another finance from the International Partnership for the sake of education estimated at USD 52.8 million.
