Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani and German Ambassador to Yemen
Carola Müller-Holtkemper discussed Tuesday latest developments in Yemen.
Al-Barakani praised Germany's support to the internationally-recognized government of Yemen and support for realizing security and peace in the country.
He pointed out to Iran-backed Houthi militia's obstinate refusal for peace process and implementing UN resolutions and agreements, the recent one Stockholm Agreement, making it clear that the recent Houthi strikes aimed basically at hitting peace process and destabilizing the whole region.
He also pointed to Houthi militia's violations against Parliament members, issuing death verdicts against them and seizing their possessions and to people's suffering over Houthi militia economic measures, freedom restrictions and looting humanitarian assistances.
The meeting tackled Riyadh Agreement and ways of implementing it, confirming that efforts are exerted for implementing it with support from Saudi Arabia.
The Parliament Speaker reconfirmed that the government of President Hadi is keen on realizing peace and supports UN's efforts for realizing inclusive and just peace.
For her part, the German diplomat pointed out that her country's government is following up situations in Yemen and supports the government of President Hadi until realizing peace and exerted efforts for this purpose.
She praised Saudi great role for supporting peace process in Yemen.
