Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik received Monday Executive Director of
OXFAM Khusieh Maria Vera on cooperation between the government and the
organization in field of humanitarian response to thousands of Yemeni
affected people by the Houthi-triggered war.
The humanitarian response focused on water and sanitation and livelihoods.
Attended by Director of the organization in Yemen Mohsen Sadiqi, the meeting tackled activities and programs carried out by the organization in eight provinces for helping people to get access to drinking water, sanitation services, reforming water networks, organizing awareness campaigns and providing cash assistances through labor for cash program.
Prime Minister praised the humanitarian role played by OXFAM in Yemen and its contributions- along with other agencies and organizations- for alleviating suffering of the humanitarian catastrophe resulted by Houthi militia's coup against the government and the state's institutions.
He pointed out to Keenness of the government on boosting cooperation and partnership with the international humanitarian organizations led by OXFAM for making use of the grants and humanitarian assistances.
He confirmed that the government will provide different forms of support and needed protection to facilitate the activities of the humanitarian organizations.
For his part, the OXFAM Executive Director reviewed activities and programs carried out by the organization in Yemen for long years basically in fields of water and sanitation services and providing livelihoods to needy people in eight provinces.
He praised government's cooperation and facilitations it provides to the organization for carrying out its relief and humanitarian activities in Yemen.
