Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Najeeb al-Awj
discussed Wednesday with Assistant of US Secretary of Department of
Statement for Population and Refugees Richard Albert and Senior Deputy
Director of US Agency for International Development Tim Ziemer economic
situation in Yemen.
The meeting dealt with support provided by donors-led by the United States- to Yemen's development project and technical support via international experts and consultants for training Yemeni cadre in economic and reconstruction fields.
Minister of Planning touched upon development of humanitarian situation over Houthi militia's coup against the state, praising US support to government of Yemen in all fields, especially development support through USAID, which financed a package of projects worth USD 149 million.
The two parties discussed interventions in supporting government's capacity led by technical support to the Central Bank of Yemen and recently USD 300 thousand and elaborating this support to include service and income institutions.
