President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi said:" Coup rebellious militias
couldn't see in Yemen but their own swollen bellies and increasingly
growing bank accounts at the expense of Yemeni peoples' subsistence and
through black markets, they couldn't perceive Yemen and its people but
as a scapegoat they offered to their own masters in Iran. They didn't
care about the people, nor the grave devastation and destruction they
had caused ".
In his address to the Yemeni people on the eve of the Fiftieth Anniversary of National Day Independence on November 30, 1967, His Excellency (HE) added:" There is no choice but to counter the coup d'état and defeat it. We did our best and everything may help protecting Yemeni blood, frequently extended our hands for peace, stopped military battles for long periods so that truces turned into chances exploited by the rebels to re-arming and equipping themselves and re-entrenched. We engaged in time-span consultations and accepted to sit down together with the putschists in the hope of saving lives of innocent people and seeking for ending the warfare".
The president speech covered most crucial issues related to the ongoing armed conflict triggered by the rebellious militias and disastrous consequences of the coup. However, most important points HE highlighted can be summarized as follow:
The president blamed Iran for the disruption of political transition process and lingering war in Yemen." I talked openly at the UN Podium prior the National Dialogue Conference about Iran's interference. I said that: "Iran had been seeking to block the political settlement process in Yemen in a bid to replicate the Iranian experiment in Yemen…… The coup militias forces wanted to bring Yemen back to the old ages… they intended to topple the republican regime"…..
The President reaffirmed that Yemeni people will keep on fighting for establishing the civil modern federal state." It is a war imposed upon our people and they will continue to fight to defend their national gains and national proposal which translated by the outcomes of the National Dialogue, only our people will decide the end of this war that ought to end up in establishing the Yemeni Federal State", said president Hadi.
He underlined the most formidable challenges Yemeni peoples have been facing as a result of the coup d'état, he said:" As a result of the coup and taking over the state's institutions, we have been fighting a multi-faces war at the same time. The nation has been battling the rebellious militias.. At the meantime, we have been fighting vicious war against terrorism and violent groups which have capitalized on the insecurity to expand their influence and actions… We have also been fighting one more war with narrow-minded and short-sighted political groups that never stop to create troubles… Adding to that economic hardships can be branded as a fourth war", said Haid.
He did not forget to express deep thanks to Saudi-led Arab Coalition—in general and Saudi Arabia—in particular for their continues support and assistance." On this occasion I do highly appreciate the significant role played by our brothers in Saudi Arab and the wise leadership headed by Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the great efforts have been made by the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Emir Mohammed bin Salman… We sincerely appreciate their unflinching support to Yemen and Yemeni people", said the president.
The president came to reassure Yemeni people that they can cope with current challenges as they had done in the past. He said:" We have great confidence in our Yemeni people. We'll keep on the course and move ahead to achieve the nation's national interests, backed by our brothers and international community we can manage the challenges and defend the nation's gains", Haid stated.
