A project to preserve groundwater and soil unit was launched today in of Al-gaara zone, East of Tarebah Seiyoun District. continent Tarbah District The introduction of spray system is within the project activity for the dissemination of improved irrigation systems. The launching was done on the Agricultural Day which was organized by the project in one the farm as field demonstration in the presence of citizens in the region, representing 22 farmer water-user groups, which was previously established by the project in Tarim, Tarbah and Seiyoon, later were briefed on the nature of the system and the characteristics of the improved irrigation and the volume of water that can be saved about 50 per cent compared to traditional irrigation activityParticipants heard from The project directors in charge of the groundwater and soil field unit in hadhramaut Eng. Abu Bakr Abdullah -Aidid, General Manager, Sana'a and Amran and Al-Mahwit preservation project, Abdel-Aziz Mohamed Al-dhab-hani supervisor , on the launching of the system and to how to deal with the irrigation part of it which is being newly introduced in Wadi Hhadhramaut. The aims of all these are to achieve water savings and mitigate the cost of employees and to assist farmers in reducing the cost of crop production and thereby increase the quantity and quality of farm income from the unit area... Eng; Aided and Al-dah-b-hani indicated that the important part of this system is in reducing air temperature in proportion to the circumstances of field crops and its flexibility in adapting to the topography of the area under cultivation as well as to ease the movement between the fields in the framework of a single farm.The Director-General -in-charge of field maintained in Hadhramaut said that organizing the Field day is within the framework of a series of field days that the project is organizing in a number of areas of the Wadi in order to educate the farmers the importance of using mobile spray irrigation system, and its public and private benefits. All those participated came to know the technical nature f works that was done at the specimen field, which covers an area of approximately one hectare made up local cadres of qualified engineers from the project, that included the extension of main and sub branches water pipelines made from of aluminum as well as all the method of installation that are not time-consuming as well as the level of the flow of spraying water agricultural field in the form of drops of spray
