A point was enough for Al Zawra'a to qualify for the knockout stage of the AFC Cup as they drew 1-1 at Al Hilal in a Group B match at Ali Mohsen Al Muraisi Stadium on Tuesday. After a goalless first half, Al Zawra'a fell behind after 75 minutes when Yaser Basuhai struck for Al Hilal but Adnan Atiyah levelled the scores with five minutes remaining.Al Zawra'a started well but took until the 19th minute to produce their first when Hayder Sabah’s free kick was denied by Al Hilal goalkeeper Salem Awadh. The visitors continued to dominate and came closer to scoring after 25 minutes but Ali Yousef’s effort sailed over the crossbar while Salar Abduljabar’s shot went wide seven minutes later. The hosts’ first real chance of the game came in the 36th minute when Akram Al Selwi picked up a pass from Berhanu Kasim on the edge of the area, striking an effort goalwards that was deflected wide for a corner. But it was Al Zawra'a who continued to dominate after that and Mustafa slammed a header against the crossbar in the 67th minute. However, Al Hilal opened the scoring against the run of play after 75 minutes when Yaser Basuhai dribbled into the area from the right before unleashing a left-foot drive in the far corner of the net.Al Zawra'a went all out attack in the remaining minutes of the game and deservedly levelled the scores five minutes before the end when Hassan Mohammed knocked the ball on for Atiyah, who fired home from close range.Hayder Sabah nearly handed Al Zawra'a a late winner when he broke into the area but hit his shot against the body of the Al Hilal goalkeeper.
