Shibam infrastructure project's committee reviews implementation

The infrastructure project's coordination committee of
the historical city of Shibam in eastern governorate of Hadramout reviewed in its meeting on Wednesday the project's achievements.With the attendance of Social Fund for Development (SFD) representatives and the General Organization for Preservation of Historic Cities of Yemen (GOPHCY) director in Yemen Omar al-Halaj,the committee showed the implemented works in the experimental section of the city and separating process of the sanitation water treatment plant from the city districts.The meeting, chaired by assistant undersecretary of Hadramout governorate for Valley and Desert Affairs Fahd al-A'ajam, discussed the periodical report prepared by the GOPHCY's Support Unit team of the GTZ in Yemen during January-March 2009.It also approved holding a workshop for assessing the experimental section implementations during April 20 -25.
Al-A'ajam affirmed the significance of achieving this vital project properly to protect the city so as to show its historical and tourist position.
