Saudi Arabia keen to support power projects in Yemen : Envoy

The Saudi ambassador to Yemen affirmed his country's keenness to support the electricity projects in Yemen, especially the second Marib station, to meet the needs and shortfall of energy. During his meeting on Tuesday with Minister of Electricity Abdullah al-Akwa', the ambassador Mohammed Al-Jaber confirmed the support of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen's security, stability, unity and development.
The minister al-Akwa' highly valued the big support provided by the Kingdom to Yemen in many areas, topped by its support for the implementation of the GCC Initiative and for the electricity sector.
"Saudi Arabia is the main contributor to the second Marib station project with a grant of $ 100 million and also its large support to the establishment of Ma'bar station with more than $ 400 million", al-Akwa' said.
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia is one of the biggest donors to the electricity sector in Yemen.
