Yemen's permanent delegate to the United Nations (UN) in New York Khalid al-Yamani took on Sunday the constitution oath before President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Following the routine constitutional ceremony, President Hadi praised the UN position in support of Yemen to address its crisis in accordance with the GCC-brokered deal and relevant UNSC resolutions.
He stressed the importance of promoting the relations between Yemen and the UN and briefing the international community on the latest developments in the country. He urged al-Yamani to activate the political and diplomatic contact with the five permanent members of the Security Council, as well as the Group of ten countries sponsoring the GCC deal.
The President said the only solution to Yemen's crisis is to implement the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) which addressed all the country's issues, topped by Southern and Sa'ada issues in accordance with points agreed upon by all political and societal powers and components in the country.
He pointed out that Yemen has a historic chance that will not come again, calling on all political, societal and cultural powers to benefit from of this chance to realize the country's supreme interests. He highly praised the international support for Yemen, which he described as "unprecedented".
