UK Minister for Middle East meets with Yemeni outgoing ambassador

The British Minister for Middle East Tobias Ellwood met on Thursday with the Yemeni out-going ambassador Abdullah al-Radhi on the occasion of ending his tenure. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of mutual cooperation and means to promote the economic and developmental ties.
The ambassador praised the UK support for the political process in Yemen according to the Gulf initiative and its implementing mechanism as well as the Peace and National Partnership Agreement.
He also commended the UK support in counterterrorism which constitutes a threat to the international security and peace, noting that Yemen has incurred big losses due to terror operations, lately the attack on the Police Academy which claimed the lives of tens of people.
The British Minister, for his part, praised the ambassador’s role in serving the joint interests of Yemen and the UK.
He condemned the terror attack on the Police Academy in Sana’a, affirming the supportive stance of the UK in combatting terrorism.
Ellwood also stressed on his country’s support for President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi to finalize the transitional period and to translate the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference on the ground.
