EU envoy: Conflicts hinder economic, social development in Yemen

Conflicts are considered the biggest obstacle facing the economic and social development in Yemen, the European Union ambassador has said. This came by head of the EU Mission to Yemen ambassador Bettina Muchyt in a press release issued on Tuesday on human rights in Yemen.
The EU envoy went further with saying it is not only difficult but also impossible for any government to offer the needed services for its people under such circumstances, and the international support of donors can not contribute in changing the country's situation for the better in that regard.
The majority of Yemenis still have small and light weapons, and for that many innocent citizens die every day, while others get injured in these conflicts, she said, stressing the importance to deal with such issue as humanitarian crisis claiming lives of many people.
She added within the new government, Yemen is ready to resume its peaceful transition with a full awareness to avoid disastrous alternatives , and affirmed all Yemeni citizens have to got acquainted with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article 3 "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person", and to apply it in the real life.
