Yemen, UK review cooperation to develop civil service

Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Ahmed al-Shami discussed on Sunday with UK ambassador to Yemen Jane Marriott cooperation areas in carrying out administrative reforms and eradicating double dippers. In the meeting, they reviewed the Ministry's future plan efforts to develop civil services and achieve financial and administrative reform and justice in public employment.
The Minister valued the support provided by the UK to ensure the success of the political process in Yemen, pointing the Ministry's keenness to implement reforms and clear the public and military payroll from double dippers and ghost workers.
The British ambassador said the civil service sector is not acquired a great interest, affirming the importance of paying more attention to the civil service's cadres.
Marriott affirmed the importance of correcting the civil service condition and ending the double dippers, stressing the UK readiness to provide the necessary aid to develop civil service in Yemen.
