Gov't, donors discuss progress within MAF

Prime Minister Khaled Bahah chaired here on Saturday the fourth regular meeting between the government and donors to assess the progress within the Mutual Accountability Framework (MAF). In the meeitng, the government and donors discussed the progress in the implementation of the policies reform and the joint plans to accelerate the absorption of the donors pledges.
In his speech at the meeting, which was attended by ambassadors and representatives of donor countries and international organizations, Bahah pointed to the size of the complexities, difficulties and challenges currently facing Yemen in the political, economic and humanitarian aspects.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government has targeted these challenges in accordance with the top priorities in its general program, which won the confidence of the Parliament.
" The Yemeni people is yearning to live in dignity in a safe and democratic country and we bet on its awareness", Bahah said.
He confirmed that his government will work on completing the transition tasks, enhancing security and stability and providing the necessary economic environment to achieve sustainable economic growth.
The prime minister noted that the government counts on the brotherly and friendly countries' support to bring the country out of the current situation.
In this regard, Bahah underlined the significance of the effective partnership with the regional and international community politically and economically.
"We will work hard to complete the adoption of public policies to implement the government's obligations with MAF", Bahah said.
He added that his government is seeking to amend the republican decree on the establishment of the Executive Bureau to accelerate absorption of donors' pledges to support reforms and policies.
The premier emphasized the importance of the donor pledges fulfillment, urging additional support to help Yemen at this critical stage.
