Yemen in need for donors' support in present stage: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Zemam affirmed on Thursday that Yemen is in urgent need for the donors' support, especially at this critical stage, to implement the national reforms.
During his meeting with Envoy of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General to Yemen Saleh al-Guenier, Zemam pointed that the lack of adequate resources to finance the needs and requirements of creating a comprehensive administrative and economic development in Yemen is one of the most important challenges facing the government.
Zemam explained that Yemen needs the support of the donor countries and organization to achieve the national reforms contained in the national dialogue conference (NDC) outcomes and the Peace and National Partnership Agreement (PNPA).
In this regard, the minister noted that any support provided for Yemen will be directed to implementing developmental projects, improving public services and raising the allocation of social protection programs for the poor and marginalized groups.
For his part, al-Guenier confirmed the GCC states positions in support of the Yemeni government to implement the national options that serve the Yemeni people aspirations in building a unified and stable modern civil state.
The GCC envoy expressed his deep regret for the terrorist incidents witnessed by Yemen recently, the latest of which was the terrorist attack on the Iranian ambassador's house occurred on Wednesday in Sana'a.
In the meeting, the financial and economic situations in the light of developments taking place in the national scene were discussed.
