The Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen Jamal Benomar on Sunday handed over to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi an agreement document to form the new government signed last night. The political factions in Yemen, including Ansarallah (Houthi group), have signed the agreement mandating the President and Prime Minister designate Khaled Bahah to form a new national government of technocrats according to the criteria stipulated in the Peace and National Partnership Agreement (PNPA).
During the meeting, Hadi reviewed with Benomar and Bahah the latest developments in the country and the implementation progress of the PNPA.
The President praised the Benomar's efforts that have led to the signing of the agreement, saying the new government's top priority is to carry out economic and development programs and to normalize the security situation in the country according to the PNPA.
