Conference on Restorative Justice in Yemen kicks off in Brussels

The Brussels Conference on Restorative Justice in Yemen, organized by the Global Network for Right and Development's (GNRD) in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights and Democratic Development (NCHRDD), kicked off on Saturday in Belgium's capital, Brussels.
During three days, the participants, representing various political parties and civil society organizations in Yemen, along with international specialists in conflict resolution, would discuss issues related to the restorative justice in Yemen and achieving the national reconciliation.
The Head of the NCHRDD and the conference's preparatory committee said that this conference is a real opportunity to achieve a national reconciliation via the restorative justice in order to avoid armed conflicts in the country.
For his part, the GNRD President Loai Deeb made clear that holding Brussels conference comes within the international and local efforts to implement the National Dialogue Conference's outcomes and the President's Hadi as well.
The conference would review the Algerian and Irish experiences in conflict resolution through restorative justice, which was a major cause of stability and development after witnessing years of armed conflicts there, he added.
Deeb urged all the political and social parties and components to exert more efforts in order to promote constructive dialogue to put an end to political gridlock and work for greater security, stability, and development for the future Yemen.
