Benomar welcomes Peace Agreement signed in Yemen

The Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen, Jamal Benomar, welcomed on Monday the signing of the Peace and Partnership Agreement between all Yemeni political parties in this difficult time.
Late on Sunday, Yemeni political parties signed a Peace and Partnership Agreement at the presidential palace in Sana'a. The signing of the agreement was attended by President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, Parliament Speaker, presidential advisors, the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen and representatives of the political parties including "Ansarallah".
In a statement issued by his office in Sana'a, Benomar stressed the importance of the agreement, which is "based on outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and between all the political parties, to stop the conflict in Yemen." He further stressed the need to work hand-in-hand for a democratic Yemen and to take positive steps toward political stability and peace in Yemen.
The Special Adviser underscored the importance of implementing in full the agreement, and without any delays, expecting all sides to honor their commitment to the political undertakings contained in the agreement.
The United Nations looked forward to the continued cooperation with President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the political leaders in building a new democratic Yemen based on national partnership and that meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people, Benomar said.
