The Arab League (AL) on Thursday called on all Yemeni political forces to support President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi's efforts and reject any attempts to undermine the current political process in Yemen.
The League's Council ,at the end of its 142nd session at the level of delegates held in Cairo, urged all Yemen political parties and forces, including Houthis, to adhere to what contained in the initiative of the presidential national committee tasked to negotiate with Houthis' leader, as an appropriate solution and the only one to defuse the current crisis experienced by the country.
The permanent delegates to the Arab League urged ,in their recommendations, all political forces to abide by the implementation of the national dialogue conference outcomes and provide the appropriate atmosphere for the completion of the GCC initiative terms and the transition process.
They emphasized the importance of commitment to the Security Council Resolution 2140 in 2014, on the need to hold accountable any party seeks directly or indirectly to undermine the political process.
The AL's Council demanded that all Yemeni parties to abide by the contents of the presidential statement issued by the Security Council on August 29, which urged to settle the differences through dialogue and renounce resorting to violence to achieve political ends and condemned the political and security escalation and erecting camps in and around the capital Sana'a.
The Council confirmed the League's full commitment to preserve the unity of Yemen ,respect for its sovereignty and independence ,reject any interference in its internal affairs and stand by the Yemeni people in their aspiration for freedom and democracy and justice.
It called once again on the international community and donors to fulfill their pledges to provide the necessary support to Yemen in the political, security, economic and financial aspects.
In this regard, the AL's delegates welcomed setting of September 24 as a date for convening the ministerial meeting of Yemen Friends Group on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.
