2 Yemeni lion statues under renovation in Paris

Yemen ambassador to Paris Khalid al-Akwa'a acquainted on Saturday with
renovation works of the two Yemeni lion bronze statues in the Lovere
Museum.
The ambassador praised, during the inspection visit,
the Yemeni-French cooperation in the field of antiquities and museums,
noting the historical specialty of the bronze statues of the two lions
which were sent to Paris in January 2009.
This kind of
cooperation comes with the agreement signed between the General
Organization for Antiquities and Museums (GOAM) and the Lovere Museum
in 2006 in cooperation with the French embassy in Sana'a.
Worth
to mention, another Yemeni statue was renovated last year in Paris and
is currently exhibited in the National Museum in Sana'a.
