50 antique stones stolen from historical palace restored

Local authorities and those of antiquates managed to restore 50 antique
stones from persons who took them last week from walls of a historical
place in the district of Bilad Alrouse, 50 km south-east Sana'a. Director of Antiquities Office of Sana'a governorate Muhanad al-Siyaie clarified to almotamar.net that social figures and inhabitants of Shibaa village in which al-Sabaya historical palace is situated committed themselves to guard the historical site and its contents. He praised the role of the local council of the governorate and the district in warning the citizens there against digging contents of the historical palace. The guard of the fortress pledged in writing to protect the antique stones of the palace against being tampered with, some of who last week had transferred some of those stones to use in building their houses while the guard was absent. Al-Siyaie added the concerned authorities of the government are in the process of preparing complete report on diggings and renovations and fencing the fortress to be presented as s study to be funded in future.
