8th conference of IUL opened in Sana'a

The 8th Conference of the Islamic Universities League (IUL) was opened
on Monday in Sana'a in cooperation with the Eman University and the
league. The four-day conference aims at highlighting
globalization of Islam and duty of Islamic universities for a renewing
as a required rule in Islam. In the opening session of the
conference, the Minister of Higher Educational and Scientific Research
Saleh BaSorah affirmed importance of the conference to enhance role of
the universities in field of renewing the Islamic ideology and facing
challenges surrendering the Islamic nation. BaSorah also
indicated to the importance of the scientific research and Islamic
studies to renew the Islamic ideology in general. Rector of
Sana'a University Khaled Tomim also indicated to the higher position of
Islam as religion of moderation and suitable for any time The
deputy chairman of the conference and chairman of the Eman University
Sheikh Abdul-Majeed al-Zandani also pointed out to the elements of
renewing and role of modernists in strengthening the nation. Al-Zandani said that the nation needs for renewing to wake it up and remind it with reality of its religion and needs. A
group of Islamic and Arabic religious scholars are taking part in the
conference that would review around 50 researches over the renewing in
Islam and priorities of developing scientific approach of the Islamic
universities.
