Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed
Sabah al Sabah along with Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi put on
Sunday foundation stone for community college in Socotra archipelago at
a cost of $10 million funded by the State of Kuwait. Al-Qirbi
affirmed the importance of speeding up to finalize procedures to set a
bid for the project of the new Socotra commercial seaport which will be
financed by the State of Kuwait at $40 million to start works this year
in order to serve sea transport to and from the archipelago. The Kuwaiti delegation toured in the archipelago and got acquainted with nature and tourist landmarks of Socotra. Al-Sabah
stated to Saba that his visit to the archipelago comes to follow up
implementation of the two projects of the seaport and community college
which Kuwait finances within the Kuwaiti support programs for
development projects of Yemen. He expressed admiration of what he has seen in the archipelago and its growing development. Al-Sabah
also praised the Yemeni-Kuwaiti brotherly relations, affirming that
cooperation between the two countries witnesses growing development in
all fields. The Kuwaiti delegation left Sana'a on Sunday following a few days visit to the country.
