President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi chaired on Monday the first meeting of the National Authority for Monitoring the Implementation of NDC Outcomes.
In his speech, President Hadi said that the meeting is important to highlight the importance of the authority to begin its mission to monitor the implementation of all outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) on the ground. "Today I am so glad to meet you at the opening ceremony of the National Authority for Monitoring the Implementation of NDC Outcomes. I assume you the responsibility to monitor the implementation of NDC outcomes,'' the President said.
"This authority is considered as one of the most important national body to move the country to a desired civil state based on the national partnership and common responsibility,'' Hadi said.
He added that the authority will be tasked with monitoring what had been agreed upon by all national powers, civil social organizations, women and youth.
He stressed that the NDC’s outcomes represent the aspirations of all Yemeni people for change and comprehensive reforms. He said that the authority is the body which would follow up and supervise the performance of the Constitution Drafting Committee, which is working now on drafting the country's new constitution based on the NDC’s outcomes.
The meeting of the national authority was supposed to be held two weeks after its formation on April, but the meeting was delayed due to the economic and security reasons.
Hadi said that all Yemeni people were shocked by the killing of 14 soldiers by al-Qaeda in Hadramout on Friday. “However, our battle with the forces of evil, terrorism, treachery, betrayal and sabotage is a fateful one," Hadi said.
The President vowed a relentless fight against al-Qaeda insurgents. "The popular and official efforts must come together to eradicate criminals whose actions have become clear for all," he said.
Hadi said the killing of the soldiers showed that "this ugly action reflects the psychological and mental problems with terrorists, and deviant ideology that is against religion and the country".

During the meeting, Dr. Abdul Kareem al-Iryani and Nadia al-Saqaf were nominated as deputies of the President of the authority.
