Yemen, Japan discuss cooperation in technical education

Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Abdul-Hafidh Numan discussed on Monday with Japanese ambassador to Yemen Katsuyoshi Hayashi activation of agreements in the technical education and vocational training field. The meeting touched on aspects of support that can be offered by the Japanese side to Yemen in the field of technical and vocational education.
The two sides dealt with the possibility of the resumption of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA)'s projects in Yemen in the technical education field, as well as the possibility of supplying the Maritime Institute in Aden with an integrated training ship and fishing boats according to an agreements signed between the two countries.
They also discussed the possibility of the Japanese side's support for the development of disciplines in the use and maintenance of solar energy in the technical and vocational institutes as well as some handcraft disciplines.
The Japanese ambassador confirmed his country's keenness on supporting and strengthening the areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the technical education.
He pointed that he has contacted with his country's government in order to prepare a draft for resuming and activating bilateral cooperation programs between the two countries, especially in the field of mobile workshops and some projects relating to the technical and vocational education.
