Yemen, donors discuss MAF in Washington

Chargé d'affaires of Yemeni embassy in Washington Adel al-Sonini has discussed with U.S. officials and the donor international financial organizations based in Washington the economic and financial relations.
Al-Sonin discussed ,during separate meetings with Acting Assistant of the U.S. Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs , the U.S. Department of Treasury's Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Middle East and Africa, the World Bank Executive Director for the Arab Group and Dean of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Mutual Accountability Framework (MAF) between the Yemeni government and donors.
The meetings also touched on the results of Yemeni negotiations with the IMF and ways to finance the fiscal gap for accomplishing the vital developmental and investment projects in order to address the unemployment among youths, as well as the steps taken to implement the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue conference (NDC) and the underway arrangements for elections and preparing the new constitution draft.
During the meetings, al-Sonini reviewed the economic and financial reforms matrix being implemented by the government according to the directives of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
The participants in the meetings renewed their call for the donor countries and organizations that have not yet allocated their pledges for Yemen to do that quickly in light of the needs list priorities.
