PM meets President of Somalia's Puntland State

Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basindwa met here on Sunday with President of Puntland State of Somalia, Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, who is currently visiting Yemen . In the meeting, Basindwa and Ali discussed the joint cooperation relations, especially with the Puntland State, and the prospects of boosting them so as to serve the mutual interest of the two countries.
They touched on the latest developments in Somalia and the steps that have been achieved towards the comprehensive peace.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister renewed Yemen's support to all efforts aiming to achieve the security and stability in Somalia, noting to the depth of ties and historical relations between Yemen and Somalia.
In turn, the President of Puntland State praised Yemen's effective role in support of the achievement of security and stability in Somalia, and the importance of the continuation of this role.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized on the importance of joint efforts to combat piracy in the Gulf of Aden, and the need to enhance the level of coordination between the two countries to eliminate it and other lawless activities, because these activities pose a risk and a threat to international navigation.
