Interior Ministry unearthed on Wednesday that 13 people, involved drive-by killings that targeted military and security officers, were arrested.
In a press conference held in Sana'a, Public Relations and Moral Guidance director Mohamed al-Kaedi said that 43 drive-by killing operations and 22 assassination attempt were registered during the period of March 1 to April 23.
During the same period, the security services captured 26 al-Qaida militants, killed 72 militants and wounded four others in clashes, which also led to killing 143 soldiers and injuring 173 others.
Al-Kaedi revealed that the security services have rounded up a six-member cell of al-Qaida, while trying to kidnap the UAE chargé d'affaires in Sana'a.
Some 56 abduction crimes were happened during the past 50 days, he said, adding that the security services have solved 32 crimes, arrested 25 kidnappers and seized 49 cars used in kidnapping.
