Transitional justice law draft to be submitted to cabinet late in May

The Legal Affairs Ministry will refer the transitional justice and national reconciliation law draft to the cabinet late in May for approval, Legal Affairs Minister has said. During his meeting with chargé d'affaires of the British embassy in Yemen Alison Kemp, Mohammad al-Mikhlafi said that after the cabinet's approval, the law draft would be submitted to the Parliament to finalize the constitutional measures.
In return, the UK diplomat expressed her country's willingness to provide the Legal Affairs Ministry with all technical, training and consultative assistances
During the meeting, al-Mikhlafi and Kemp discussed the role the Ministry plays in the underway transition process and the law drafts prepared by the Ministry such as the law draft on looted funds recovery.
The meeting also dealt with meeting of the Friends of Yemen Group being held in London today, which would launch three subgroups of policy, economy and security that would help succeed the transitional process in Yemen.
