The Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) cabinet commended on Tuesday the national consensus yielded by the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference (NDC), and the decision of dividing Yemen to six regions. In a statement issued at the conclusion of the 130th session meetings in Riyadh, the GCC cabinet pinned hope that the consensus would be a step that will help achieve security, stability and prosperity of Yemen.
It underlined that such consensus is consistent with the objectives of the Gulf initiative that ensures Yemen's unity and respects the Yemeni people's will and choices.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sabah Khaled al-Sabah, who chairs the session, welcomed in his speech the resolution 2140 issued unanimously by UN Security Council on Yemen, saying it meets the demands of the Yemeni people for change and stability and confirms the international community's support to them.
