Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa and WFP deputy executive director Ramiro Lopes da Silva also reviewed the assistance the Programme could present to bolster the government's efforts to tackle the 2011 crisis humanitarian aftermaths, topped by the food insecurity and malnutrition. The Premier stressed that the government gives poverty reduction and food insecurity a top priority. He pointed to the government's growing burdens due to the non-stop refugees flow and mounting numbers of displaced people as well as the required aid from Yemen's partners. For his part, Mr. Silva said that the aim of his visit to the country is to get acquainted closely with food security situation in Yemen and the assistance the WFP could provide. The WFP official praised the government's efforts in cooperation with the international organizations to tackle the food, water and educational challenges.
