In the conversation, Brennan said that the U.S. administration called on all political parties in Yemen to adhere to a political settlement specified in the Gulf-brokered initiative and its mechanism and the UN Security Council Resolution 2014, pointing out that his country condemned the use of violence and escalation, which are contrary to the political settlement. The US official said also that his country supports Yemen’s security, unity and stability and will provide economic and security support, noting that it also monitors the developments in Yemen. For his part, the Vice President expressed deep appreciation to the role played by the U.S. administration along with the international community for maintaining Yemen’s security and stability.
