As three arrested, Minister says Aden fled captives not from al-Qaeda

The security authorities in Aden governorate have managed to arrest three of the fifteen captives escaped on Monday from al-Mansourah prison, Interior Minister said Tuesday.
During the cabinet weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa, Abdul-Qader Qahtan said the fifteen prisoners were arrested on criminal cases, stressing they were not members of al-Qaeda as reported by some media outlets.
Qahtan, who was presented his report on the security situation in the country, accentuated that pursuing the rest of the escaped prisoners was underway.On the other hand, the Interior Minister said that the detainees on criminal cases committed during the current events in Sana'a have been sent to the general prosecution, adding many others have been released.Interior Ministry gives the citizens' security high priority, he asserted, pointing that the Security Affaires Committee was now removing all armed manifestations from cities in addition to tackling many security issues in some governorates. For his part, Defense Minister Mohammed Nasir Ahmed briefed the Cabinet on the ongoing efforts to ensure the ceasefire in Taiz governorate, affirming that the situation in Taiz was better and the committee would eliminate completely all armed manifestations from the governorate.
