http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen participates in International Conference on FfD [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 2/12/2008] Political advisor of the president Abdul-Karim al-Iryani returned to Sana'a, after he participated in the International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD) which ended its activities on Sunday in the Qatari Capital, Doha. Al-Iryani said to Saba that, on the sidelines of the conference, he met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani and handed him over a letter from President Ali Abdullah Saleh relating to brotherly cooperation ties between the two countries and boosting horizons, in addition to regional and international issues of common concern. He pointed out that the conference discussed a number of issues over drawing mechanisms to follow up decisions of the International Conference on Financing for Development to review the implementation of the Monterrey consensus concerning developed countries commitment to provide supports for under-developing countries, in addition to World Financial Crisis and Food Crisis and their impact on under-developing countries. It is worth mentioning that Yemen's delegation to the conference included Deputy Premier for Economic affairs, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi.
