 Pay your Zakat-ul-Fitr before Eid

Every Muslim is required to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr at the conclusion of the month of Ramadan as a token of thankfulness to God for having enabled him to observe fasts.

One of the main purpose of Zakat al-Fitr is to provide those who fasted with the means of making up for any errors during the month of fasting. Zakat al-Fitr also gives the poor the  means to celebrate the festival of breaking the fast (Eid al-Fitr) along with the rest of the Muslims.
Zakat-ul-Fitr is part of the fast of Ramadan and is characterized by the following elements:
It must be given before Eid prayers, unless one has a valid reason for a delay.
It should be given on behalf of every member of the household, whether male or female, adult or minor.
It consists of approximately 5.5 pounds of rice, wheat, dates, or similar food items used in the country..
