http://www.english.hadhramaut.info President chairs meeting of the NDC [The Source: SANA'A/hadhramaut.info/almotamar.net. - 30/05/2011] a plenary meeting of the National Defence Council and commanders of armed forces and security has been held Sunday and presided over by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the commander in Chief of the armed forces. The meeting discussed current developments in the national arena in the light of ramifications of the crisis and what is associated with hostile acts and crimes perpetrated against the homeland and citizens in more than one place and the measures taken for facing and containing them, in addition to studying a number of reports on the security, military and economic situations. At the beginning of the meeting the President said, “We are opening this plenary meeting of the NDC and commanders of the armed forces and security to inform them on the latest developments, specially at the end of last week of aggressions on the ministry of interior, emergency police camp, Yemeni news agency Saba, ministries of industry, tourism and some state institutions, it means attack and looting of some government institutions and interests.” The President added that is what they call it the revolution of youth and looting of state properties, the latest what happened in Abyan last Saturday, greeting armed forces men in Abyan province for their courage in facing the challenge as well as the tribes that stood by the military institution. The President maintained to say,” The slogan of those that call for change and peaceful youth revolution is looting and destruction, the destructive revolution, at the forefront the elements that deserted the military institution and symbols of corruption, and were waiting for their inevitable fate to depart, are those corrupt elements that stand by the youth revolution.” President Saleh said ,” We re with the youth and requirements of the youth and with the change to the best , but those that do nit in democracy nor freedom , nor the local authority and nr the local rule are those who now are leaders oft the so-called the youth revolution.” Addressing the members of the NDC, the President said maybe you have got acquainted with statement on the 21st which is against democracy, political pluralism and the local rule and now they ask people to stand with the youth revolution. The President reiterated that “we are with demands of the youth and we understand their demands and deal positively with them if they got rid of the corrupt elements that deserted the army, and do not obey them.” He President concluded by greeting the armed forces and security men for heir courageous and noble stands , calling them for steadfastness and confrontation of challenge with challenge. The meeting emphasised that the armed forces and the security would remain the faithful guard of all that have been achieved of gains and accomplishments for preserving security and stability. They would not be affected by all acts of treason by the coup forces that rebelled against the constitutional legitimacy. The meeting added that the national institution would not stand hand folded before the crimes committed against the homeland, the citizens, security and stability the meeting also affirmed that Yemen is a pluralist democratic country and its people are owner of the power and owner of the decision and democracy in Yemen was founded to grow and stabilize. There is not acceptance at all of any foreign intervention of any form its internal affairs and the national dialogue will remain the ideal way for solving all the domestic problems. The meeting meanwhile expressed thanks and gratitude to the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, particularly the brothers in Saudi Arabia for their brotherly efforts that are keen on Yemen’s unity, security and stability. The meeting entrusted the higher economic council to study the economic situations and to take suitable decisions for addressing them in the way realizing the national interest.
