http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Training course in the area of ​​emergency delivery in Mukalla [The Source: MUKALLA/hadhramaut.info - 08/05/2011] Training course in the area of ​​emergency delivery for doctors  began today in Mukalla. It was organized by the Office of Health coast of Hadhramout in coordination with the population sector in the ministry and with the support of the United Nations Fund for Population.

The session was  attended by  twenty participants and lasted for two weeks. The participants  came from various health institutions and centers within Hadhramout, Mahara and Shabwa  provinces.At the opening session Director  General - Office of Public Health and Population Coast of Hadhramout  office, Dr. Al-abd Rubieh Ba-mosa insisted on  the importance of activating and developing the skills of health, medical, specially those  medical Assistant, nurses and technical personnel working in Emergency departments in Hospitals. He added that there is a need to develop interest  in emergency obstetric delivery  services as it represent the touchstone in the life of a pregnant woman and her baby, So  as to improve the health of mothers that come within the priorities of the Millennium.
The Seminar was attended by  In her turn  Dr. Ahlam Saleh Bin Brik Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Hadhramout for Science and Technology/ Director Office of reproductive health in Hadhramout  said that the objective of the course is to train   health cadres,  midwives and nurses on emergency obstetric and inform them of the importance of the referral system for emergency. These referral of  critical  mothers and children in a timely manner reduces complications and mortality rate of mothers and newborn due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth.  It also   raises the efficiency of the trainees and develop their skills in the area of ​​emergency obstetric delivery and improve the level of health services in this field. This helps in improving the  performance and ways  of  dealing  with critical situations that helps  to reduce the incidence of death among pregnant women and newborns.
