http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Alaagam visits culture laboratory for plant tissue [The Source: SEIYOUN/hadhramaut.info - 19/04/2011] Under  Hadramout  Assistant Undersecretary for  Wadi  and Sahraa Affairs Salah Fahad Alaagam today on the business of plant tissue culture laboratory at the Agricultural Research Station  in Seiyoun.  He was accompanied DirecrMinistry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Omar Salem Bameheimoud, Agricultural Research Station  Director General, Dr. Abdullah Salim Alwan, laboratory  in charge, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Ssaalhi. Al-aa'agam appreciated the  efforts made by the  station leaders in the cause of  for supplementing the lab with advanced  laboratory equipment with  latest specifications completely integrated that have a  sufficient capacity to produce approximately 10 thousand seedlings per year according to the latest advanced scientific methods . The  Assistant Undersecretary expressed that  the local authority in the Wadi and Sahraa is ready to follow up with the central office to complete the rest of the necessary equipment that  will  forward  the efforts of the working staff  at the laboratory. He said that  such   research center is if high  importance in enhancing the agricultural process of seedling  trees, which are mainly palm trees tissue,  in order to accelerate the cultivation of large numbers of palm trees to maintain  the prestige enjoyed by  Wadi Hadramout as a region famous for the production  of various types of dates.
