http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen to improve coffee quality, increase exports [The Source: LONDON/hadhramaut.info/sabanews.net - 29/03/2011] Yemen's ambassador to Britain Abdullah al Radhi said on Monday Yemen is interested in improving the quality of its coffee products and increasing coffee exports. In his speech to the 106th session of the International Coffee Organization Board that kicked off today in London, he said Yemen is looking forward to wider relations with the ICO through opening new channels and having trade opportunities. Yemen is also looking forward to further cooperation with the ICO members to improve its coffee quality, attract more investments and integrate its economy into the international coffee economy, added al Radhi.Al Radhi also highlighted the history of Yemen's coffee, saying Yemen was the homeland of coffee and is known for producing one of the best kinds of coffee in the world.Head of the session welcomed the full membership of Yemen in the ICO, saying the Yemeni-ICO relationship will be strengthened.Yemen was accepted as a full member in the ICO in February this year.The International Coffee Organization comprises of 77 member states: 45 as exporters and 32 as importers.
