http://www.english.hadhramaut.info General Staff Chief meets US 5th Fleet Commander [The Source: SAADA/hadhramaut.info/sabanews.net - 23/01/2011] Chief of the General Staff Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal met here on Sunday with Commander of US 5th Fleet Mark Fox, who currently visiting Yemen. Al-Ashwal and Fox discussed cooperation areas between the two friendly' armies and ways of developing them in order to securing the common interests between the two countries, particularly in the areas of training, exchanging information and technical experiences. They also reviewed efforts between the two friendly countries in fighting terrorism and sea piracy off the Somalia coasts.Al-Ashwal indicated that such visits are important to boost up joint cooperation areas. For his part, Fox valued the Yemeni achievements in fighting terrorism, securing international navigation routes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, asserting the importance to create a strong partnership with Yemeni Armed forces especially in the maritime area.
