http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Al-Arhabi asserts importance of raising public expenditure efficiency [The Source: SANA'A/hadharamaut.info/sabanews.net - 17/01/2011] Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi asserted on Monday the importance of increasing the public expenditure efficiency in the state's general budget and focusing more on investment expenditure. The statement made by al-Arhabi during his meeting with a delegation of the World Bank (WB) in the presence of Minister of Finance Nu'aman al-Suhaybi.Al-Arhabi emphasized significance of raising the competence of pubic expenditure management to enhance the current reforms in the general budget and to cope with the Fourth Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development and Reducing Poverty for 2011-2015. He also stressed the necessity to accelerate the completion of the report on public expenditure reviews and reinforcing the role of fiscal policy in raising the public expenditure efficiency.For his part, Finance Minister Nu'aman al-Suhaybi affirmed the government's commitment to go forward in implementing the financial reforms aiming to move up the efficiency of pubic finance performance.He pointed to the importance of the public expenditure report prepared by the government in collaboration with the WB.During the meeting, the WB consultant Ibrahim al-Ghuliqa presented some proposals to prepare the report on public expenditure reviews in Yemen.
