http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen diplomat meets EU official [The Source: SANA'A/hadharamaut.info/sabanews.net - 07/01/2011] Abdul-Wahab al-Shawkani, Yemeni ambassador to European Union, met on Friday in Brussel with Cristalina Georgieva, EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and International Cooperation. At the meeting, al-Shawkani and Georgieve discussed cooperation relations between Yemen and the EU as well as aspects of support provided by the EU to Yemen in various economic and developmental fields.They also discussed means to increase humanitarian support for refugees living in Yemen, especially the refugees coming from the Horn of Africa.The Yemeni diplomat reviewed the preparations for an upcoming visit to be paid to Yemen next week by Georgieve and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres.The visit aims to watch the situations of the refugees and alleviate challenges and burdens Yemen faces to shelter and support the refugees.
