IFAD allots $ 30 mln to study fish stocks in Yemen

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) plans to implement an integrated project to study fish stocks in Yemen during 2011 at a cost of USD 30.9 million.
Head of the General Authority for Marine Sciences Researches and Aquaculture Osama al-Mas told Saba that the Fund on priorities and needs of the Authority to activate and develop the research.It was agreed upon the implementation an integrated project to study the fish stocks in Yemen to come up with practical results serving the socioeconomic development, al-Mas added. He pointed out that the government contributed with YR 500 million to support the project, confirming the keenness on availing from all projects and programs funded by donor countries and international organizations the field of fish researches and natural environment.
