During a meeting presided over by President Ali Abdullah Saleh for GPC leadership, who said that the amendments aim to shift into the wide-accountability local ruling and to enhance women participation in the political arena.Considering the election as a constitutional and democratic right for the Yemeni people, the GPC asserted holding the coming parliamentary election on the scheduled date freely and transparently.The GPC called on the entire political powers to join in efficiently in the imminent election to enhance the democratic process in the country.The GPC leaders reviewed a number of issues in the national arena pertaining to the constitutional amendments and arrangements for the coming parliamentary election as well as the general trends of the GPC platform in the coming election.Speaking to the GPC leadership, President Saleh congratulated all on the great success of hosting the 20th Gulf Cup in Aden and Abyan provinces, voicing his gratitude for all efforts made to accomplish the relevant activities in such honorable way.
